Riverside Apartment

A young family's first owned home, designed for a growing household without feeling like a showroom.

The Brief

The clients had just bought their first apartment — three bedrooms, a young child, and a second on the way. They wanted it to feel calm and put together, but were wary of a home so "designed" that it stopped feeling livable day to day.

Our Approach

Keep circulation open through the main living areas, let each bedroom carry its own quiet identity, and choose materials that could genuinely take daily wear from a young family — a home for using, not just for photographing.

What We Did

  • Reworked the kitchen-to-dining flow so one parent can cook while keeping an eye on a toddler in the adjoining space
  • Built flexible storage into the second bedroom, sized to convert from nursery to child's room without a second renovation later
  • Chose a warm, durable material palette that holds up to daily family use rather than one that only looks good on day one
  • Zoned the living room for both everyday family time and occasional guests, without needing two separate rooms to do it

The Result

The finished apartment supports the family's actual daily rhythm — cooking, working from home, a toddler underfoot — while still feeling considered rather than improvised.
